II/33. Polybian Roman. 275BC-105BC.

Here is a picture of polybian roman warmodelling DBA army, that I completed. All the bases still need varnishing but other than that they are ready. The picture quality is lacking but when i finally do the varnishing i'll make better photos.

Polybian Roman General

This is a teaser picture of general for my Polybian roman army. The figure is by a Spanish company called Warmodelling. I know that he should be paired by two other riders but i prefer to do him this way and i'm sure no one will have any objections.

On The Hittite chariots.

For everyone interested in bronze age in ancient near east I recommend the following book: The End of the Bronze Age: Changes in Warfare and the Catastrophe ca. 1200 B.C. The author takes a lot of scholarly knowledge, that is not available to everyone, and delivers in a easy to reader in a simple and very informative way. This has also sums up all the arguments for the bowman in Hittite chariots.

Blog testing continues ...

Here are some test photos of Mick Yarrow Miniatures Hittite chariot teams. One driver and two warriors that are meant to wield spears. As i'm a firm believer of the bow as the main armament of Hittite chariots those two armor clad warriors are enduring the process of arms-cutting-greenstuff-working which will turn them into bowmen.

Things to come:

I plan on doing a review of Mick Yarrow Miniatures Hittites and putting here my completed DBA armies.
