Unboxing - Corvus Belli Celtiberians and Lusitanians

Ancient Spanish Celtiberians and Lusitanians DBA V2 - II/39b or II39c

1 3Cv  (Gen)

1 2Lch

 1 2Ps

3 2PS

6 3Ax/3Wb
1 4Bd

On the table 2012 - 07

At the moment I'm working on 15mm Celtibernian and Lusitanian Army. The miniatures are from DBA Army Pack by Corvus Belli with the addition of one blister to crate all options for both armies.

In the CB Army Pack there are  enough miniatures to make:

1 3Cv
1 2Lh
1 2Ps (Slingers)
3 2Ps (Jevelin/Spear armed men)
6 3Aux/Wb (Sword armed)
1 4Bd (Sword armed)

The Aux/Wb/Bd figures have two shield options: round and oval.  In the Lusitanian Army list some of those Aux/Wb/Bd should be based as PS, because in the army list there are 7 2PS.

I decided to buy one pack of the same Jevelin/Spear armed men that are given to make 3 2Ps in Army Pack. Thanks to that, just by buying 8 figures, I will gain the ability to field my figures as two differed Armies. I will have to check what, miniture wise, are the differences between Iberian and Celtiberian armies. I know that in game one has Aux and one Wb but if the figures are the same, it would mean that I will have 3 armies that quite different to play with. All of that just from one  Army Pack supplemented by 6 figures from one figure packl. In total I should have 16 elements to paint with 7 of them being 2Ps.

Later I will put the unboxing photos.

Converted Forged in Battle Fallschirmjager

Those additional Fallschirmjagers with MG42 that I made using Battlefornts German MG pack. The guy on the left is original figure by Forged in Battle that is carrying MG34.

Not dead. Yet !

My "current" project. I started it more than a month ago. Yesterday I made it's first feet.

Soviet Engineer-Sapper

On the painting table now: Soviet Engineer-Sappers. Before I paint my Fallschirmjagers I wanted to try new paints and decide on the painting style I will use. For that purpose I took my Soviet Engineer-Sappers that I bought long time ago to use in a diorama with big mecha. Their combat armour gives them that cool pulp look.
On the rather artsy picture you can see the paints I used and some figures.

New Order.

I received my new order from maelstrom games: Coat d'arms paints, Forged in battle German paratroopers, Flames of War special order MG34/42 and Germans with panzerfausts. I wanted MG to add some more firepower to paratroopers and panzerfausts as a reference to sculpting my own. Because I placed my order on 3rd of February and there were Flames of War items in it I received the new 3rd edition Flames of War rulebook. I must say I'm impressed with the quality of this book and even tho I didn't wanted to play this game I might try it afterwards.

I might add some in box/blister photos later this week before I start my conversion work.

Few WIP Photos.

Those are the things I am now working on in my spare time:

Southern Heavy Gear mechs on custom 40mm sabot bases and WW2 15mm Soviet Engineer-Sappers.

Essex Kassite and Later Babylonian Army. The chariots are glued to their proper bases by wheels so they can be painted easily without much hustle. Chariot crews are custom ones as the figures that were in the pack did not have bows. Chariots themselves had their axles moved back to give them more historical look.

0 Gundam that had one of his joints broken. Now its glued back with a pin inside. It's a third thing that had broken in it. First was the sword handle and then the pelvis peg.

Bases.

I just want to give thumbs up to Sarissa Precision. They are UK based company that make laser cut mdf terrain and bases. I ordered several packs for DBA use and some 40mm rounds. The shipping is very reasonably priced and the items are quickly sent. I'm sure I'ill make many more orders with them.

The bases and some Heavy Gear figures that I'll put on 40mm rounds using magnets.

Photo update 4.

This is a quick photo of my assembled Heavy Gear figures. Four Anolis Refit and in the middle one Black Mamba.

I've converted their guns in to bullpup versions to tie them with the IMI Tavor that Israeli army now uses.

Photo update 3.

For a joined Christmas and birthday present I got myself some Heavy Gear minis to use as 15mm near future mechs. Those that can be seen on the photo are Southern Anolis Refit units and a Black Mamba. I have updated their weapons to give them more modern (current) look. I plan on painting them in IDF colors.

Photo update 2.

After construction, next to some miniatures for a sense of scale.

The figures are (from left): Yu Jing Yaokong, Yu Jing Monk, Wulfric the Wanderer, 15mm Xyston Thebans

Now I need to create some rules for it, because it's to cool to stand on a shelf without taking part in wargaming action.

Photo update 1.

Here you can see my birthday present beeing constructed:
